Quilting Collaborations - Episode 5 1

Guys guys guys! I AM SO EXCITED. Are you ready to freak out with me?

I thought the collaboration series was over after my last post. But no. No no no! How did I not see it before?!

YOU and I need to collaborate. It’s so obvious now! Who better to collaborate with than YOU, my dear readers!

So here’s what I’m thinking… You all create some 12 inch square blocks and send them to me. Then Nancy the Quilting Goddess and I will piece them together, quilt them, share the results with you, and then donate them to a local charity here in Portland, OR, USA in the name of the Quilter’s Mart community.

Are you in? If you are, please create your 12 inch square blocks and ship them to:

Quilter’s Mart Collaboration Project

PO Box 11773

Portland, OR 97211

USA

I cannot wait to see what you all create! This is, quite possibly, the most exciting quilting project I’ve ever been a part of, and I hope you all feel the same!

Quilting Collaborations - Episode 4 0

Bonjour! Welcome back to the second to last installment of Quilting Collaborations.

In this episode, I’m exploring potential in my life for quilting collaborations. My inspiration to collaborate hasn’t waned since the initial lightning bolt struck, and I’m seeing opportunities everywhere!

The obvious collaboration possibility is with Nancy the Quilting Goddess. We sew in tandem all the time, so why not create something together!?

I also work with Kim the Quilter’s Mart Boss Lady here at QM, but it doesn’t have to be all business… we could create together too!

But the most intriguing revelation lately has been the discovery that I have friends in my book club who also quilt. I had no idea! We have so many other shared interests, and so many of our meetings involve book discussions, that I was completely unaware that any of them sewed.

There are two ladies in the book club in particular who sew frequently. Now that we know this about each other, we often send each other pictures of in-progress projects, share quilting victories, and ask each other advice. This new facet of our relationship is so fun!

I think we should elevate it, though. We have another book club baby on the way… and I think I’ll propose making a quilt for the bundle of joy who is currently baking away in mama’s belly as a collaborative project. The thought excites me endlessly!

As a matter of fact… I just sent off the text to propose the idea. I’m so happy that the universe has spoken so clearly to me recently about the need to collaborate. I think it will fill my soul up to share the creative experience with some friends.

Happy quilting, readers! Do you have any collaborations you’re currently working on? Tell me about them in the comments!
