Lydia from Ontario (CAN)
Today's feature comes from Lydia of Ontario Canada.
Here is her story.
"I sew to bring pleasure to someone else. The quilts I make always find a home for someone to bring happiness, smiles and to make their lives brighter. This quilt went to a very dear friend Betty who is battling lung cancer. She cuddles under quit after chemo and tells me it makes her feel so much better. The blocks in this quilt were a block of the month and I set them with my own setting. I have been quilting since 1982 but sewing my whole life. My mother was a seamstress and to keep me occupied when I was 4 years old, so she could get her sewing work done, she gave me buttons, fabric, needle and thread and I sewed the buttons onto fabric. It was unrecognizable when I finished but it kept me busy for hours. (According to my mother.) I’ve been sewing ever since."
Awesome story, thanks so much for sharing Lydia!
