This is WHY I Sew — Quilting
Maxine from Ohio (USA) 0
Today's entry comes from Maxine of Ohio. She made this quilt for her grand daughter.
Here is her story:
"I have been quilting for about 15 years off and on. My Mother and Father both quilted. My father retired at 75 and was bored so decided to help Mother quilt. They made several quilts together and when she died he continued making quits. He even took his quilting frame when he went to assisted living at age 98. He made at least one quilt for each of his 3 children and 9 grandchildren plus some got more than one. He was working on one for my son and daughter-in-law when he died at age 99. I finished it and that is how I got started quilting. I have 8 grandchildren and I am making a quilt for each. The one pictured is a version of 'Boston Commons'."
Thanks for sharing Maxine!

Phyllis from Rhode Island (USA) 0
Today's submission comes to us care of Phyllis of Rhode Island. She has been quilting for 40 + years, started when she was 11 years old!! She made this quilt for herself - we love to see self-care and self-gifting! You are important, don't ever forget it.
This is what Phyllis told us:
"I quilt because it makes me happy. It makes many others happy too. I donate most all of my quilts. I finally realized I didn’t have one for me. Quilting is the best therapy for me."
