Deborah from Massachusetts (USA) 0
Today we're featuring a lovely project from Deborah of Massachusetts. She made this for her husband Bill. She's been quilting for 3 years.
Here is her story:
"A special presentation of this quilt was done at a Veterans Day assembly at one of the schools in our town. I have twin grandsons that attend the school that got to help present one to their papa and one to their dad. This was my first quilt that I made took 3 months wanted a lot of different squares and did this while learning.
Once I started I cannot stop I spend 5-6 hours every day in my sewing space. I draw the picture color it in then make it. I quilt with a group of women we are part of a national group “ Quilt of Valor “ in the little time I have over 60 quilts now that have been presented to Veterans. Also have made many wall hangings, place mats, table runners for gifts. What better reason for learning to quilt to give them to veterans. When I started I was working part time but I felt like I did not have enough time to quilt so I told them I had to retire so I could make more quilts."
Thanks for sharing Deborah! Thanks for supporting the veterans
